Senior Lindsay Cameron is the latest UK ?Gymnast of the Week? as chosen by the coaching staff. Cameron was honored with three senior teammates Michelle Gales and Krista and Kara Prestigiacomo last Friday during senior night. Cameron then capped off her final home appearance with a season-high 9.825 on vault. This season she has a 9.703 average on vault, recording seven 9.725 or higher marks. Cameron has helped the Cats in all but one meet of her collegiate career and recorded a collegiate best on vault of 9.925, which is the fourth-highest vault score in school history, during her four years at Kentucky.

?Lindsay: The Cinderella story of UK gymnastics,? said UK head coach Mo Muhammad. ?Lindsay came as a walk on and worked her way into the line up. Lindsay has been a tremendous representative of a UK student athlete and all that it encompasses. She is a great student and a phenomenal athlete.?

The Cookeville, Tenn., native has been a stellar student-athlete as shown by her commitment to academics, her team and the community. She has been named to the Dean?s List six semesters while at UK and was twice named to the Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. In 2004 Lindsay was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa, named to the National Leadership Honor Society, admitted to the Southeastern Conference Good Works Team and named to the Scholastic All-America Gymnastics Team. This year she was also inducted into the Frank G. Ham Society of Character. Lindsay also manned the UK Athletics/God?s Pantry Food Drive in 2003 and 2004.
