LEXINGTON ? Sophomore Billy Grace was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, it was announced Monday by the league office.

Grace, a Granger, Ind., native, batted .556 with a 1.111 slugging percentage over the weekend to lead Kentucky to a sweep over Toledo. During the three-game set, he scored seven runs and drove in five, including a career-high four in game two. He hit two doubles and a home run on the weekend while stealing a base as well.

After starting the season slow, Grace has hit .419 with 11 RBI and 11 runs scored during the Wildcats eight-game win streak.

Grace is the first Kentucky player to be recognized by the conference since current Wildcat Kalen Gibson earned SEC Pitcher of the Week honors twice a year ago. He is the first Kentucky batter to be named Player of the Week since 1997.
