Williams Leaves Team: University of Kentucky linebacker Dustin Williams, whose career has been hampered by numerous injuries, has decided to leave the Wildcat football team and plans to give up football, Coach Rich Brooks has announced. Williams plans to remain in school and work toward his degree.

Williams suffered a torn hamstring last August and returned for brief appearances in two games before incurring a broken arm in the game at Florida, requiring season-ending surgery. He also played in just two games as a freshman in the 2001 season because of concussion injuries.

Williams? best year was in 2003 when he started 11 of 12 games and made 122 tackles. He also played in 12 games as a reserve in 2002, totaling 35 tackles.

Coaches Preparing for Spring Practice, Players Working Out: The UK football coaches are preparing for spring practice, which begins March 30. The Wildcats are taking part in strength and conditioning workouts.
