Senior co-captain Michelle Gales is the latest UK ?Gymnast of the Week? as chosen by the coaching staff. Gales is a veteran gymnast with numerous outstanding performances, including a first-place all-around finish at No. 4 Alabama. Gales recorded a score of 39.050. She has performed on all four apparatuses in every meet this season, helping the Cats to a 4-4 over-all record. Gales also finished third on beam with a mark of 9.7, a second-place mark of 9.850 on floor and strong scores of 9.775 on bars and 9.725 on vault.

I am proud of the route that Michelle has taken. I feel that Michelle has crossed the threshold from good to great and is willing to make the sacrifices to be great.?

The Atlanta, Ga., native has performed three 9.9 or higher floor routines this season and leads the team with a floor average of 9.854. Gales is also ranked in the South Eastern Conference in the all-around, vault and floor and is nationally ranked 23rd on floor.
