Freshman Crissy Cannon is the latest UK ?Gymnast of the Week? as chosen by the coaching staff. Cannon has competed for the Cats in every meet of her collegiate career for Kentucky. She performed like a veteran this past weekend against a very strong No. 6 Georgia team. Cannon tied her career-high 9.775 on floor and also helped UK with a 9.675 score on bars and a 9.650 on beam.

?Crissy strives hard to put together a good competition,? said UK Head Coach Mo Muhammad. ?She is one of the hardest workers in the gym. We are very proud of the accomplishments that Crissy has made so far and with her work ethic and attitude she will continue to get better and better. Crissy is the epitome of a student-athlete; she not only strives for perfection in competition, but also strives for perfection in the classroom.?

The Lenoir City, Tenn., native excels in the classroom as she finished her first collegiate semester with a 4.0 grade point average.
