UK freshman Marcus Sundh and sophomore Carey Rubin each scored a pair of victories to move on to the quarterfinals Friday at the Rice Indoor Invitational in Houston, Texas.

The fifth-seeded Sundh defeated Javier Herrera of Tyler J.C. by a 7-5, 6-1 count in the ?B? flight round of 32 before setting aside Nebraska?s Joel Reckewey by a 6-4, 6-1 count in the round of 16. The unseeded Rubin scored a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Baylor?s eight-seeded Jon Reckewey before dispatching Nebraska?s Marcus Karner, 1-6, 6-3, 6-3, to move on to the quarters.

The Rice Indoor Invitational continues Saturday in Houston.
