LEXINGTON ? Kentucky senior Jamal Shteiwi became the second All-American in Kentucky history when the National Soccer Coaches Association of America selected him to the third team.
Shteiwi joins former Wildcat star Ilkka Jantti as the only Kentucky players to earn the distinction.
This season, Shteiwi was the team captain for the Wildcats and led them to their fourth Mid-American Conference championship in the past five years. He was named the MAC Player of the Year after leading the conference in points, goals, assists and shots.
Shteiwi wrapped up his career ranking in the top three in school history in every offensive category. He has earned an invitation to the Major League Soccer combine held in January.
