LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Kelenna Azubuike scored 15 points to lead Kentucky to a 79-54 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan in an exhibition game Tuesday night at Rupp Arena.

Azubuike connected on 6-of-10 shots from the field and scored 12 points in the opening half. The junior forward made three of Kentucky’s five 3-pointers.

Chuck Hayes had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Joe Crawford came off the bench and added 12 points.

Kentucky shot 48 percent from the field and scored 30 points off 22 Kentucky Wesleyan turnovers.

Kentucky Wesleyan, which never led, managed just 17 points in the first half and shot just 21 percent from the field.

Kentucky held the Panthers to six points and one field goal in the final 12:40 of the half as Kentucky turned a 15-12 advantage into a 39-17 halftime lead.

Kentucky shot 50 percent from the field and forced 13 turnovers during the first half.

Frank Phifer scored 15 points and Matt Enos followed with 13 points to lead the Panthers.

Kentucky starting point guard Patrick Sparks suffered a broken nose in Sunday’s practice, but was in the starting lineup and played without protective gear. Sparks scored five points.
