DESTIN, Fla. ? The University of Kentucky women?s golf team ended day one play in 14th at the ACC/SEC Challenge in Destin, Fla., ahead of SEC counterpart, Alabama. The Cats are led by Deland, Fla. native, Ali Kicklighter who shot a season-low 72 to tie for fifth at one-over-par.
Finishing second for the Cats is freshman Beth Felts, finishing day one shooting an 81. Elizabeth Dotson and Emily Culbertson are both tied for 73rd, after firing a first round of 84. Erin Faulkner rounds out the Kentucky five.
Auburn and Virginia are tied for the team lead and Auburn’s Diana Ramage and Wake Forest’s Laura Crawford are tied for the individual lead after the first round of the Fifth Annual Chrysler ACC/SEC Challenge at the Raven Course at Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort.
Saturday’s second round, a shotgun start, begins at 8 a.m. CST. The final round of 18 holes, also a shotgun start, starts Sunday at 8 a.m.
