DESTIN, Fla. ? The University of Kentucky women?s golf team travels to the fifth annual Chrysler ACC/SEC Challenge hosted by Florida State Oct. 29-31 at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Fla. The tournament includes the nation’s top two teams – No. 1 Duke and No. 2 Auburn – and five of the nation’s top 20 teams. The Cats will also compete against seven of the top-20 nationally ranked individual collegiate golfers.
Kentucky is joined by fellow SEC counterparts, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and South Carolina. Representing the ACC are Florida State, Duke, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Wake Forest and Virginia.
The three day tournament will be played on the par 71, 5,937-yard Raven Course at the Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort in Destin, Fla. Tournament play begins from the first tee Friday and Saturday at 7:30 a.m. with Sunday?s play beginning at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start. The reigning individual tournament champion, Blue Devil senior, Elizabeth Janangelo returns to help Duke defend their 2003 tournament title.
