WINDMERE, Fla. ?The University of Kentucky men?s golf team finished day one fourth at the Isleworth Country Club in Windmere, Fla. UK?s Mark Blakefield is tied for sixth at 4-under-par 140 (70-70) with senior John Holmes close behind in eighth place at one-under-par 143 (72-71).

After 36 holes, sophomore Andrew Stephens is third for the Cats, firing 151 (77-74) tied for 34th. Cale Barr shot 154 (78-76) and senior Matt Wells rounded out the Kentucky five.

The University of Georgia, Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State claimed first through third on the team leader board after day one play. Georgia Tech?s Roberto Castro, Florida?s Matt Every and Oklahoma State?s Pablo Martin are all currently tied for first at 7-under-par.

Play continues tomorrow morning on a course that was recently rated the longest and toughest course in the state of Florida.
