HUNTINGTON, W.Va. ? The University of Kentucky women?s JV golf team is currently in fifth after play was called after 18 holes today because of rain at the Guyan Country Club in Humtington, W.Va. The tournament will be shortened to a 36-hole format with the final 18 slated to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The Cats are led by junior Erin Faulkner who is tied for fifth after firing a first round 77. Marissa Muir is the second Cat atop the leader board, tied for 15th after shooting a first round 80. Sophomore Katie Johnson and senior Stacy Springer are both tied in 21st, firing 80 for the day. Chapin Hoskins rounds out the five for the Cats recording an 83 for day one play.
Leading after the first round of the tournament is Ohio University. Methodist College?s Heather Martin sits atop the individual leader board at 1-over par 73 (38- 35). The tournament will continue tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the Guyan Country Club.
