Top-seeded UK senior Jesse Witten will be joined by eight Wildcat teammates this weekend at the ITA Southeast Championships in Memphis, Tenn.
UK sophomores Matt Allinder and Jason Mallaiah and freshman Marcus Sundh are slated for participation in Thursday?s qualifying draw. Witten, the nation?s third-ranked student-athlete, will be joined in Friday?s 64-player main draw by 53rd-ranked senior Tigran Martirosyan, 119th-ranked junior Nate Emge, senior Matt Emery, junior Alex Hume and freshman Nolan Polley.
Witten was the top Kentucky finisher in this event a year ago. The three-time All-American lost to Memphis? Lee Walker in the 2003 quarterfinals.
