University of Kentucky men?s golf team is first at one-over after second round play finished this morning from yesterday?s rain delay in Tampa, Fla. Mark Blakefield is atop the leader board at the Gary Koch/Cleveland Golf Invitational tied for first at five-under after shooting a season-best 69. Matt Wells recorded a personal-best firing a second round 67 and sits tied for third.
Sophomore Andrew Stephens is in third for the Cats and improved four shots to from the first round, shooting a second round 72. Seniors John Holmes and Brandon Waldrop both improved their scores by five shots from the first round. Cale Barr the lone individual for Kentucky shot 156 (75-81).
Kentucky?s nearest competition, South Carolina is five shots back from first place going into the third and final round. Tied for first with Blakefield is Alex Hamilton from South Carolina.
The third round of play is underway with the awards ceremony still scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET.
