Kentucky freshman Sarah Foster won her opening-round qualifying match but was eliminated in her ensuing match Tuesday afternoon at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships Qualifier in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Foster earned a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Tulane?s Erika Valdes in her morning match before falling victim to UNLV?s Elena Gantcheva by a 6-2, 6-3 count in her afternoon match.

UK senior All-American Aibika Kalsarieva begins main-draw competition on Thursday.
