University of Kentucky?s junior varsity women?s golf team clinched the tournament title at the EKU Fall Invitational Saturday at the Arlington Golf Course in Richmond, Ky. Kentucky won the tournament by 14 strokes over second place finisher and host Eastern Kentucky. The Cats landed two in the top five with junior Erin Faulkner taking first at the tournament firing (73-77-75) 225 and tied for second place, sophomore Katie Johnson shot (75-77-77) 229.
Junior Ali Kicklighter made the top ten tied for sixth shooting (76-75-80) 23. Junior Katie Dixon tied for 11th firing (76-78-80) and senior Stacy Springer tied for 16th in her first tournament this season.
The Cats return to action on their home course Sept. 1-3 for the UK Wildcat Fall Invitational. The meet will be held at the Kentucky Club with play beginning at 9 a.m. Friday morning.
