Kentucky golf standout John Holmes is featured in the Sept. 3 issue of GolfWorld, which also ranks Holmes third in the country and the UK men sixth.

?GolfWorld did a really good job of showcasing John and helping people learn a little more about him,? said head coach Brain Craig.

The two-page spread features Holmes wearing a UK basketball jersey and highlights his entire golf career. The article spotlights Holmes? past three seasons at UK, including his success as a collegiate athlete, personal achievements on the course and as a student.

?It is a nice honor to be highlighted by a premier magazine like GolfWorld,? said Craig. ?It is a great reflection of John?s accomplishments and the great career that he has had at UK in his first three seasons.?

The Wildcats return the entire 2003 team, with freshmen additions Todd Obergoenner and Ben Fuqua. Five seniors led by U.S. Amateur golfers Matt Kohn and John Holmes started practice Monday. The team travels to Toledo, Ohio for the Inverness Intercollegiate Classic this weekend Tournament play begins at 8:30 a.m. ET Friday and finishes Saturday.
