University of Kentucky football players Ricky Abren and Ryan Schumm have been suspended from game competition pending the outcome of court cases, Coach Rich Brooks has announced.

Abren (left), a redshirt freshman nose tackle from Hopkinsville, Ky., was arrested in Bowling Green on Friday. Schumm (right), a non-scholarship redshirt freshman linebacker from Crestwood, Ky., was involved in an incident on July 10.

?We have a high level of expectation that all players represent themselves and this University in a positive manner,? Brooks said. ?Any time we get a report to the contrary we take it very seriously. We will continue to monitor these situations closely.?
