UK senior golfer John Holmes shot team-leading scores during the final two rounds of match play to help lead Team USA to a 32-28 victory over Team Japan Friday at the Fuji Xerox USA vs. Japan Collegiate Golf Championship in Ichihara, Japan.

Holmes, a PING All-American and Campbellsville, Ky., native, shot a pair of five-under-par 66s Thursday and Friday to defeat Kunihiro Kamii and Takamasa Yamamoto, respectively, at the Taiheiyou Club Ichihara Course.

The win is the United States? ninth straight in the competition and gives the Americans a 22-7 lead in the all-time series.
