Lexington, (Ky.) ? Kentucky returns to Southeastern Conference play this weekend when it travels to Athens, Ga., to battle the Bulldogs of Georgia in a three-game series. Kentucky won its 20th game of the season on Wednesday night when it defeated Morehead State, 8-0, at Cliff Hagan Stadium. Seven UK pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout performance in that game, and retired 22 of the final 23 batters, including 21 in a row at one point.

Georgia (27-15, 9-9 SEC) has won six games in a row, including a sweep of then-No. 6 Ole Miss last weekend in Athens. The Bulldogs, who also swept a top 20 Florida team earlier this spring, beat Georgia State, 16-6, on Tuesday night.

Kentucky (20-19, 5-13 SEC) trails the all-time series with Georgia, 105-80-1. The Wildcats took two of three from the Bulldogs last season in Lexington. UGA swept UK the last time the two met in Athens, back in 2002.

The first game of the series is scheduled for 7 p.m. (ET) on Friday night. Saturday?s contest is slated for a 4 p.m. first pitch, to be televised on Fox Sports Net, and Sunday?s wrap up will be played at 1 p.m. All of the action can be heard in Lexington on 96.1 FM. Friday?s broadcast will be on a delayed basis at 10:30 p.m. while Saturday and Sunday?s games will be on live. Live audio and stats are available at www.ukathletics.com.
