Lexington, (Ky.) ? The Kentucky baseball team will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., this weekend for a three-game Southeastern Conference series against the No. 19 Arkansas Razorbacks. The Wildcats are in search of their 20th win and enter the weekend with a 19-16 record, including a 5-10 mark in SEC play. UK most recently took two of three from then-No. 6 South Carolina last weekend in Lexington. The series win was the first for the Wildcats over the Gamecocks since 1999 and snapped a 10-game losing streak to USC.
Arkansas is 26-13 (10-5 SEC) and stands in second place in the Western Division of the SEC. The Razorbacks have played ranked teams in each of their last eight games, and have won six of those contests. After taking a pair of games from Vanderbilt last weekend, UA downed Oklahoma State, 5-2, on Tuesday. Two weeks ago, the Razorbacks swept perennial SEC power LSU in Baton Rouge. The Tigers were No. 2 in the country at the time.
Kentucky was swept by Arkansas last season and the Wildcats have dropped eight of the last 12 contests between the two schools. Arkansas holds a modest 18-13 advantage in the all-time series.
The first game of the weekend series is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. (ET) on Friday night. Saturday?s contest is slated for a 3:05 p.m. first pitch and Sunday?s wrap up will be played at 12:35 p.m. All of the action can be heard in Lexington on 96.1 FM.
