LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky men?s golf team signed another elite golfer, Todd Obergoenner, coach Brian Craig announced Tuesday. Obergoenner, a Cape Girardeau, Mo., native, took top honors at the 2003 American Junior Golf Association Chicago Junior championships.

?Todd is a great addition to the Wildcat golf family,? Craig said. ?He has proven that he can compete at the highest level of junior golf and, more importantly, he has outstanding character and impeccable academic credentials.?

In addition to winning the AJGA Chicago Junior championships, Obergoenner finished sixth at the 2003 Westfield Junior PGA championship, tied for seventh at the 2003 AJGA Lockton Kansas City Junior Championships and qualified for match play at the 2003 U.S. Junior Amateur championships. He also tied for 17th at the 2003 AJGA Ringgold Telephone Company Junior championships.

?I look forward to Todd playing a significant role in helping us achieve our academic and athletic goals,? Craig said.
