Cats are looking to bounce back after suffering a 4-3 loss Friday evening to 10th-ranked Georgia in Athens. The Cats claimed the doubles point but dropped four of six singles matches in the loss. Kentucky awaits another difficult opponent in Tennessee, who defeated No. 20 Vanderbilt Friday evening. The Vols feature two ITA top-100 student-athletes in No. 45 Simon Rea and No. 88 Wade Orr. Kentucky has defeated Tennessee in the last two meetings between the schools.

UK junior Tigran Martirosyan has won nine-consecutive singles matches and junior Jesse Witten has won 11 of his last 12 singles matches for the Cats. Witten and senior Rahim Esmail, who comprise the ITA?s 16th-ranked doubles tandem, have won 10-consecutive matches and defeated Georgia?s fifth-ranked pair of Bo Hodge and John Isner Friday in Athens.

No. 1 Illinois Coming to Lexington

Top-ranked defending NCAA Champion Illinois, undefeated in its last 48 matches, takes on Kentucky next Wednesday, Apr. 7 at UK?s Boone Tennis Complex. The match is slated for 5 p.m. EDT. UK Tennis tee-shirts will be distributed to the first 100 UK students in attendance. UK students may also take advantage of prizes and drawings throughout the match. Admission is free for all attendees.
