The Kentucky track and field team qualified two for the NCAA Midwest Regionals Friday at the Florida State Relays in Tallahassee, Fla. Andy Fryman and Tony Tzouanakis both reached qualifying marks in the shot put and discus throw competitions, respectively.
Tzouanakis smashed a career-high in the discus throw with a second-place launch of 170-04.00. The senior also tallied a sixth-place finish in the shot put gold with a toss of 52-10.25. Fryman reached his NCAA mark in the shot put with a runner-up throw of 56-07.50.
The Cats also registered two top-10 finishes in the high jump, as Kristen Mowrey tied for fifth with a leap of 5-04.25 while Susanne Funken ended the competition in a tie for 10th with a mark of 5-02.25.
