Millington, (Tenn.) ? Kentucky starter Seth Stanley threw a gem on Saturday to defeat the Indiana Hoosiers, 10-2, at the Service Academy Tournament in Millington, Tenn. The senior from Henderson, Ky., went seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out 10 batters. The win was the third of the young season for Stanley (3-0) and improved the Cats to 6-2 this spring.

?Seth (Stanley) got seven of those strikeouts after the third inning. He was able to find a good rhythm after the third and maintained it the rest of the game. He had command of all his pitches,? Kentucky pitching coach Gary Henderson said. ?I?m extremely pleased with his effort today. I thought he showed what a competitor he is.?

Kentucky took the lead, 3-2, in the sixth when Mike Breyman doubled to score Spencer Graeter and later came in to score on a John Shelby fielder?s choice.

UK took advantage of some erratic Indiana pitching and fielding in the bottom of the seventh to get three runs. The rally started with J.B. Schmidt?s bunt base hit, followed by a Casey Gilvin single. A wild pitch scored Schmidt and Spencer Graeter walked. Caleb Stewart reached on an error as Gilvin scored and Graeter eventually crossed the plate on a Jesse Barber sacrifice fly, giving UK a 6-2 lead.

The Wildcats scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to blow the game open, 10-2. Justin Scutchfield and Schmidt drew consecutive walks and Gilvin was hit by a pitch. Graeter singled to score two runs and Caleb Stewart brought Graeter in on a single of his own. A walk to Shelby plated Graeter for the final run of the frame.

Indiana struck first in the game, getting two runs in the top of the third inning. Troy Ragle led the inning off with a single and moved to second on Cody Wargo?s sacrifice bunt. After Jay Brant walked and both runners advanced on a wild pitch, Seth Bynum singled through a drawn-in infield to score both and put the Hoosiers on top, 2-0.

Kentucky scratched the scoring column in the fifth when Shelby led off with a double and came in on a throwing error by the IU catcher, attempting to nab Michael Bertram at first base on a sac bunt.

The Wildcats are back in action on Sunday in the third and final day of the Service Academy Tournament. UK is scheduled to battle Memphis at 4 p.m. (ET) from the USA Baseball Stadium.
