Lexington, (Ky.) — Kentucky is set to host Eastern Michigan on Tuesday afternoon in the final game of a four-game series between the two schools. Kentucky defeated the Eagles, 18-7, on Sunday after EMU had taken the first two games of the weekend by scores of 14-5 and 17-13, respectively. Tuesday?s game was not originally scheduled, but was added to replace a rain out UK had earlier in the season.
Sophomore Kalen Gibson is scheduled to toe the rubber for UK on Tuesday, marking the first start of his career. Kentucky has been hot offensively of late, compiling an impressive .406 team batting average in the past week. Casey Gilvin had 10 hits in 20 at bats last week, including six doubles and a home run, while Caleb Stewart went 10-for-16 with seven runs scored. Kentucky pounded out 19 hits on Sunday, including four from Gilvin and three from Stewart.
First pitch is set for 3:05 p.m. on Tuesday from Cliff Hagan Stadium and admission is free.
