Women's Golf

The Kentucky women?s golf team returns to action on Feb. 22-24 at the NC State Saguaro Cactus Classic in Tucson, Ariz. The squad will compete at the Dell Urich Golf Course teams in the three-day event, which was originally scheduled to be played in Puerto Rico.

The Cats were led by newcomer and Rollins College transfer Erin Faulkner in the fall. The sophomore competed in all 14 rounds of golf during the fall season with a 78.14 stroke average. Junior Katie Dixon came on strong late in the season for UK, finishing tied for 15th at the ACC.SEC Challenge and in a tie for 24th at the-season ending Ross Resorts Invitational. The Cats will compete in four regular-season tournaments before traveling to Baton Rouge, La., for the SEC Championships on April 16-18.

The Saguaro Cactus Classic is the first if its kind for the Wolfpack, who hope to make the tournament an annual event after this season. Complete results will be available after each round at www.ukathletics.com.
