LEXINGTON, Ky. ? The Kentucky gymnastics team is set to face its fourth top-10 ranked opponent of the season when it travels to Baton Rouge, La., to take on the No. 10 LSU Tigers, Friday at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The meet will begin at 7:00 p.m. CT.

UK scored its second-highest score of the season (195.025) last week against No. 1 Alabama and is looking to improve on its 194.265 Regional Qualifying Score in hopes of advancing to post-season competition. Kentucky is currently ranked seventh in the Central Region.

?We have gained a lot of confidence in recent weeks and that is important with a young team,? Coach ?Mo? Muhammad said. ?One of our goals at the start of the season was to qualify for regionals and we have put ourselves in position to make that happen.?

LSU is coming off a season-high 197.300 performance against Georgia behind an outstanding All-Around performance by sophomore April Burkholder. The Houston native has won four consecutive All-Around titles the Tigers are ranked second in the Central Region behind overall No. 1 Alabama.

?LSU has a great program with a lot of good athletes,? Muhammad said. ?We have to stay focused during every event and continue to improve our routines.?

The Wildcats return home Friday, Feb. 27 to take on No. 5 Florida in its final SEC head-to-head meet of the season at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Coliseum.
