Freshman all-around performer Rachel Riley is the latest ?Kentucky Gymnast of the Week? as chosen by the UK coaching staff. Riley posted a career-high 39.125 all-around score this past weekend against Georgia. The Dallas product posted a pair of 9.725 scores on vault and bars and a 9.825 in the floor exercise. She also led the Wildcats on beam with a 9.850, which is the highest beam score on the team this season.

?Rachel is really coming into her own and making a major contribution to this team,? said Coach ?Mo? Muhammad. ?We knew she would be a phenomenal gymnast when she joined our program and her hard work in the gym is really paying off.?

Riley has the third highest all-around average (38.500) and second highest floor average (9.825) on the team through four meets. The freshman arrived at Kentucky in the fall with numerous accolades and accomplishments at the club level. She is a two-time Texas state all-around champion, two-time Region 3 all-around champion and tied with current teammate Krystle Cook as the 2003 Texas state championship floor champion.
