The 10th-ranked University of Kentucky men?s tennis team (2-0) puts its unbeaten record on the line Tuesday evening when the Cats journey to South Bend, Ind., to take on No. 49 Notre Dame (3-1). The match is set for a 4 p.m. ET start at Notre Dame?s Eck Tennis Pavilion.

The Cats? match against the Irish is Kentucky?s first regular-season match against a ranked opponent since UK played this same Irish squad last April in Lexington. Then-No. 12 Kentucky sent the 60th-ranked Irish back to South Bend with a 5-2 loss on Senior Day in Lexington.

The Cats are coming off of a season-opening doubleheader sweep of Appalachian State and Morehead State four days ago in Lexington. Kentucky claimed 11 of its 12 singles wins on the day in straight sets.

Kentucky heads to South Bend with four Wildcats featured prominently in the ITA?s men?s singles rankings. Junior Jesse Witten comes in at No. 16, junior Tigran Martirosyan at No. 58, junior Evan Austin at No. 81 and sophomore Nate Emge at 100. Notre Dame counters with Matthew Scott at No. 68, and the doubles tandem of Luis Haddock and Ryan Keckley boasts a No. 18 national ranking.

After the Cats battle the Irish, Kentucky will meet No. 52 Louisville on Thursday at UK?s Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex.
