The Kentucky women?s basketball team looks to snap a two-game losing streak in the Southeastern Conference when it plays host to 14th-ranked LSU on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. ET. The Wildcats also look to move up to No. 2 in total attendance in UK history. They currently rank 15th nationally in average attendance with 4,990 fans a game as 39,921 have witnessed the Cats at home. The school record is 61,975 set in the 1982-83 season when UK led the nation in attendance.

The Wildcats (8-7, 0-2 SEC) are coming off losses to No. 22 Vanderbilt and No. 12/9 Georgia last week. LSU marks UK?s third straight ranked opponent, its fourth this season.

?We have had two really tough (SEC) games, and our third one isn?t going to be any easier,? UK Coach Mickie DeMoss said. ?LSU is a very explosive team. I would rank them one of the top perimeter teams in the country. Seimone Augustus is up for about every player of the year award, Doneeka Hodges is having a great year and Temeka Johnson is a very good point guard. We are going to have our hands full on the perimeter with their size and quickness, and their post people have also been doing a good job. This is an opportunity for us to come out, because we have had a week off from games, and improve on the offensive end and see what we can do.?

LSU (14-2, 2-0 SEC) climbed to No. 14 in the national polls following a 70-59 win over No. 21 Auburn last week. The Lady Tigers extended their win streak to 13 after defeating Florida 74-59 on Thursday in Baton Rouge, La.

Sue Gunter is in her 22nd season as the head coach of the LSU Lady Tigers. The Hall of Fame coach has led the Lady Tigers to 13 NCAA Tournament berths, three Elite Eight appearances, seven Sweet 16 appearances and two SEC Tournament championships. She is the third-winningest coach in women?s basketball with 695 victories and her 997 games coached in her career is second to Texas? Jody Conradt.

Super sophomore Seimone Augustus leads three Lady Tigers in scoring with 16.9 ppg. Senior Doneeka Hodges is the team?s second-leading scorer with 15.0 ppg while senior point guard Temeka Johnson follows with 12.9 ppg.

The Cats are led by SeSe Helm who averages a team-high 15.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Sara Potts and Jenny Pfeiffer follow in the scoring column with 14.3 and 11.3 ppg, respectively.

LSU and UK meet for the 26th time in the all-time series. The Lady Tigers own a 18-7 record vs. the Cats, including a 6-3 advantage in games played on the road. UK has lost six straight games to LSU and fell by its largest margin in the series last season, 82-39 in Baton Rouge. UK?s last win at home vs. the Lady Tigers was a 74-71 overtime victory on Jan. 14, 1998 in Cincinnati.
