(Lexington, Ky.) ? The Kentucky baseball program recently held four winter camps, hosting 360 campers from 10 different states. The camps, which ran from Dec. 26-30, featured seven professional scouts, 15 collegiate scouts, eight professional players and several members of the Kentucky team. The camper to staff ratio was 5:1.
?The winter camps were a great success,? Kentucky head coach John Cohen said. ?Our staff really enjoys teaching and watching great players develop. With the Nutter Field House we have one of the very best facilities in the nation and it works very well in our camp system.?
Cohen plans to make the winter camps, which were for ages six through grade 12, an annual event. The next opportunity for a baseball camp at UK will come in the spring as the Kentucky Wildcat Spring Training Camp will be held for ages 6-14 on March 29-April 1. The cost is $120. Anyone interested in an application can contact the Kentucky baseball office by phone at (859) 257-9013 or by e-mail at kentuckybaseball@uky.edu.
