Durrell White

Nose tackle Lamar Mills and linebacker Durrell White have been named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team as selected by SEC Coaches.

Mills, a redshirt freshman from Slidell, La., made 52 tackles during the season, an outstanding total for a player at his position. His excellent quickness enabled him to make six tackles for loss this season, including two quarterback sacks. He also was credited with two quarterback hurries. His best game came at South Carolina when he had seven tackles, including two TFL and a sack. In addition to today?s honor, he was named first-team Freshman All-America by The Sporting News and SEC All-Freshman by the Knoxville News-Sentinel.

White, a true freshman from Middlesboro, Ky., accounted for 43 tackles during the season, including seven tackles for loss and 2.5 quarterback sacks. He also had three pass breakups, six quarterback hurries, and recovered one fumble. His top performance came against Florida when he notched a season-high seven tackles, including a quarterback sack, and a pass breakup. In addition to today?s honor, he was named third-team Freshman All-America by The Sporting News and SEC All-Freshman by the Knoxville News-Sentinel.
