LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky senior Bradley Wheeldon shot down two school records Saturday in No. 2 Kentucky’s 6139-5525 victory over visiting TCU.
The Eubank, Ky. native set a new Kentucky smallbore mark with a score of 1190, which is believed to be the highest smallbore score in collegiate rifle this season. Wheeldon added an air rifle count of 396 to set a new Kentucky aggregate scoring record of 1586.
UK freshman T.J. Harris contributed a 391in air rifle, notching a career high.
Kentucky Coach Harry Mullins was pleased with the year-ending result, though he insists his team still has some work to complete.
“It is up to the team as far as how hard they are willing to work over the semester break and how focused we are going to be to help us stay where we are right now,” Mullins said. “If we do what we need to do before our next match, we’ll be in good shape next spring.”
The Cats return to the range on Jan. 17, 2004 at the Palmyra Invitational in Palmyra, Pa.
