DESTIN, Fla. – The UK women’s golf team finished in a tie for 10th place at the ACC/SEC Challenge at the Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort in Destin, Fla. The Cats ended the tournament in a tie with Mississippi State after the third round was cancelled due to inclement weather in the area.

UK’s Katie Dixon (149) fired a 76 in the second round en route to a 15th place tie among the 60 competitors from the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Southeastern Conference. Marissa Muir and Eva Gessner both shot two-day totals of 157 to end in a tie for 41st, while Emily Culbertson (T-56th) and Erin Faulkner (58th) also competed for Kentucky.

Duke took home top team honors after leading through two rounds to capture the ACC’s first championship in the four-year event. With all five players in the top-six individuals, the Blue Devils finished 32 shots ahead of second-place Florida. Elizabeth Janagelo from Duke earned medalist honors after shooting an eight-under 134.

UK rounds out fall competition on Nov. 3, when they travel to Pinehurst, N.C., for the Ross Resorts Invitational at the Mid Pines Golf Course.
