CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Kentucky Wildcats will take part in the three-day Franklin Street Trust Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C., Oct. 3-5. UK enters the tournament as the No. 21 ranked team in the NCAA according to GolfStat.
The Cats are led by junior All-American John Holmes. Holmes is currently ranked as the 11th best golfer in the NCAA according to Golf Week Magazine and entered the season as one of the top-10 collegiate golfers to watch by the publication. Junior Mark Blakefield is currently ranked 45th on Golf Week’s weekly list.
The nine-team Franklin Street Trust Invitational also features Alabama of the Southeastern Conference as well as No. 6 Georgia Southern, ECU, Georgia State, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia and UNC Wilmington.
UK opened the season with a win at the Cleveland Golf Kiawah Island Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C., followed by a sixth place finish at the Mason Rudolph Championships in Nashville, Tenn.
