UK Junior Varsity Team to Play Host to Georgia Military: The University of Kentucky junior varsity football team will play host to the Georgia Military College of Milledgeville, Ga., on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. in Commonwealth Stadium. Admission if free and fans can enter at gates 10 and 11 on the south side of the stadium.

The game will mark the reemergence of the junior varsity program. UK hasn’t fielded a JV team since 2000. The JV squad runs the same offensive and defensive schemes as the varsity. Thursday’s game will be the only JV contest of the season.

UK graduate assistants Casey Waletich and Jake Cookus will be the co-head coaches, with Waletich leading the offense and Cookus guiding the defense. Student coach Travis Atwell will serve as an assistant coach.

The UK aerial attack will be led by varsity back-up quarterback Trey Barclay. The 6-5, 228 junior is a native of Mayfield, Ky.

Kentucky JV is 11-10 all-time and holds a 1-1 record vs. Georgia Military. The Cats fell on the road at GMC in 1997, 35-30 and defeated the Bulldogs in Commonwealth Stadium in 1998, 66-34.
