The University of Kentucky women’s golf team finished in 13th place after two rounds at the Cougar Fall Classic in Hanahan, S.C. on Monday, Sept. 15. The Cats shot 36 holes on the day, carding a 310 in the evening round at Yeaman’s Hall Golf Course, leaving UK with a two-round total of 629 heading into the last 18 holes of the tournament.
Three Cats saw their first action on the golf course for UK, as sophomore transfer Erin Faulkner and freshman Emily Culbertson and Marissa Muir joined veterans Eva Gessner and Stacy Springer in the tournament. Faulkner was impressive in her first performance, shooting a one-over 73 in the evening to end the day tied for 28th. After finishing in a tie for 29th after one round, Gessner shot a second round of 80, joining five other players at 12-over par and a tie for 41st place. Tina Miller from Miami sits atop the leaderboard, shooting five-under on the day after two rounds of 70 and 69 on the par-72 golf course.
