Kentucky defenders Jamie Hutchison and Jessica Laswell were selected to the Nike Carolina Classic All-Tournament team Sunday for their solid overall play in matches against ACC powers North Carolina and Duke.

Hutchison, a junior from Crestwood, Ky., teamed with Laswell, a junior from Lexington’s Dunbar H.S., to assist Elizabeth Ramsey on Kentucky’s first goal against Duke, tying the score at one. After the Blue Devils reclaimed the lead, Hutchison assisted on Laswell’s second goal of the season to knot the tally at two, sending the match to overtime, and ultimately, a tie.

Hutchison and Laswell will join forces again this weekend as the Cats play host to the two-day UK Invitational Tournament at the UK Soccer Complex. This Friday, Sept. 12, Iowa will battle Rutgers at 5:00 p.m. while Kentucky will take on Brigham Young at approximately 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 13, Brigham Young will meet Iowa at 5:00 p.m. and Kentucky will wrap up the UKIT against Rutgers at approximately 7:30 p.m.
