LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky track and field senior Simidele Adeagbo, who recently completed her college eligibility with a sixth-place finish in the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, has been named to the Verizon Academic All-America Cross Country/Track & Field first team.

Adeagbo, who was named first-team All-District last month, was a first time All-America honoree. She holds a 3.89 GPA in journalism at Kentucky, where she has already begun work on her master’s degree.

She claimed her third All-America honor at last month’s NCAA meet before moving to Oregon for the summer for an internship with Nike. She closed her career as the school-record holder in the triple jump.
