After dropping its last two matches in SEC play, the 13th-ranked University of Kentucky men’s tennis team will look to once again dent the win column Sunday when the Wildcats face 14th-ranked Auburn. Competition will begin at 1 p.m. ET at the Boone Tennis Complex on the UK campus.

Kentucky enters the match at 15-9 overall and 5-4 in the SEC, while Auburn sports a 13-6 overall record and a 4-5 tally in the SEC. The Tigers come into Lexington after dropping a 4-3 decision at Vanderbilt. Auburn features the ITA’s 17th-ranked student-athlete, Rameez Junaid.

UK sophomore Jesse Witten enters Sunday’s match having won five consecutive doubles decisions and his last three singles matches. His doubles partner, Rahim Esmail, has been on a hot streak of his own, winning four of his last five singles matches.

In 2002, the Tigers had their way with the Wildcats, winning by 4-1 counts at Auburn during the regular season and in Knoxville in the semifinals of the SEC Championships.
