The University of Kentucky women’s golf team will spend the next three days in Gainesville, Fla. to participate in the 2003 Suntrust Lady Gator Invitational. Tee times begin at 8 a.m. Sunday through Tuesday at the par-70, 6,701 yard University Golf Course.

Seniors Kelly Anders and Rachel Lester, junior Eva Gessner, sophomore Lauren George and freshman Ali Kicklighter will participate in the three-day event for Kentucky. Lester and Gessner contributed top-50 performances in the Texas A&M “Mo”morial Invitational Monday, Mar. 3 in Houston.

Kentucky Coach Stephanie Martin expects her student-athletes to use this event as a stepping stone this spring.

“The three days we’re competing in Gainesville should allow us to build some momentum for the rest of the spring season. We’ll be able to get in some good work over the next few days against another challenging field of competition,” Martin said.

Sixteen schools will participate in the tournament, including SEC rivals Tennessee, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and the host school, Florida.
