For the 17th time in 19 years, the University of Kentucky will play host to the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championship. The tournament begins Thursday, Feb. 20 and will run through Sunday, Feb. 23 at the Louisville Tennis Club. Admission is $5 for a full day of outstanding collegiate tennis. Admission is free for USTA members and children 18 and under.
The ninth-ranked Kentucky Wildcats will take on the seventh-ranked defending National Indoor Champion Stanford Cardinal Thursday at 4 p.m. UK will play at least the following two days of the tournament, regardless of the outcome in Thursday’s match.
The 16-school field features three of the top five players in the latest ITA rankings, including fourth-ranked Jesse Witten of Kentucky. Overall, fifty-one of the ITA’s top-125 in men’s singles will be competing in Louisville this week.
