Lexington, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s basketball team returns to Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. ET against 16th-ranked South Carolina. Sunday is ‘Take A Kid to the Game’ day. All kids ages 18 and under are admitted free. All other adult tickets are $2.

UK faces South Carolina for the first of two meetings with the Gamecocks this season. UK and USC have meet twice for seven straight seasons as South Carolina is Kentucky’s permanent home-and-home conference opponent. UK leads the overall series 17-11, including a 10-3 advantage when playing in Lexington.

South Carolina is ranked No. 16 in this week’s top 25 polls and is coming off a 78-64 win over Florida on Thursday. The Gamecocks are led by the nation’s No. 2 scorer in Jocelyn Penn. She is averaging 26.6 points and 8.2 rebounds a game.

“Obviously containing Jocelyn Penn is key but they have an overall talented team,” UK Coach Bernadette Mattox said. “They have a lot of weapons and it’s always an exciting game against the Gamecocks.”

Rita Adams leads four Wildcats in double-figure scoring with 13.8 points per game. Sara Potts and SeSe Helm follow with 11.9 ppg and 10.8 ppg, respectively. Jenny Pfeiffer, sidelined with a broken left hand, rounds out the double-digit scoring with 10.3 points a game.

UK looks to extend its home win streak to five after defeating Ole Miss on Jan. 23. The Cats are 6-1 at Memorial Coliseum this season.
