The 23rd-ranked University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will play two matches at the Racquet Club of Murfreesboro, Tenn., on Saturday.

UK (1-2) will take on Middle Tennessee at 10 a.m. and Murray State at 4 p.m. The Cats lost their home opener, 4-3, to Michigan on Monday, Jan. 27. Saturday’s matches are the final contests for the women before they head to Madison, Wis., for the National Indoors on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

The 63rd-ranked Lady Raiders (1-3) won their first match of the season on Wednesday, Jan. 29 when they defeated Austin Peay by a score of 7-0. Their three losses were to Vanderbilt, Virginia and Tennessee. UK also lost its match to Virginia on Jan. 25. The Cats will face Vandy and UT in conference play later in the season. UK leads the series with Middle Tennessee, 8-0.

UK will be Murray State’s first match of 2003. The Racers are coming off a stellar fall season, which saw them post a 27-17 singles record over three tournaments with one flight champion. UK leads the series with Murray with a record of 8-1.
