The Kentucky women’s basketball team looks to snap a two-game losing streak when it plays host to Ole Miss on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. ET in Memorial Coliseum.

The Lady Rebels travel to Lexington with an 11-5 overall record, 1-3 in the Southeastern Conference. Their lone conference win came against Florida in their conference-opener. The Lady Rebels have since dropped three straight league games.

The game will be the 22nd meeting between Ole Miss and Kentucky. Ole Miss leads the series 17-4, including an 8-1 advantage when playing in Lexington. Ole Miss, who won the only matchup of last season, 76-66, in Oxford, has won two straight over the Cats.

“Both teams are looking to find their way back into the winning column so I think the game will be physical and high-energy,” UK Coach Bernadette Mattox said. “One of our goals is to remain unbeaten at home in conference play and I think we learned from our mistakes in our last two games. It will be an exciting game to watch.”

UK will have to regroup without guard Jenny Pfeiffer who went down with a broken left hand on Tuesday. The freshman starter fell during practice, breaking her third and four metacarpal bones of her non-shooting hand. She has started the last 11 games for the Wildcats and is the team’s fourth leading scorer. Pfeiffer had surgery on her hand Wednesday and will be out for approximately six to eight weeks.

Senior Rita Adams continues to lead four Cats in double digit scoring. She averages 13.8 points a game while Sara Potts has 11.2 ppg. SeSe Helm and Pfeiffer follow with 10.6 and 10.3 ppg, respectively.

Junior Genice Terry leads Ole Miss in conference play as she averages 14.3 points per game. Terry averaged 19 points in Ole Miss’ two losses against Georgia and Mississippi State. Sophomore center Amber Watts in the only Lady Rebel to average in double-digits in all game this season at 12.1 ppg.

Coach Ron Aldy is in his sixth season at the helm of the Lady Rebels. He has compiled a 69-82 record at Ole Miss, including a 4-2 mark against Kentucky.
