BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) – Doneeka Hodges shot 6-of-8 from 3-point range andfinished with 24 points as No. 2 Louisiana State stretched its winning streakto 15 games with an 82-39 victory over Kentucky on Thursday night.

LSU (15-0, 3-0 Southeastern Conference) matched the school record forlongest winning streak – set in the 1995-96 season – and got off to its beststart ever. It was also the biggest margin of victory in an SEC game for theTigers, who are off to a 3-0 start in the conference for the third time.

The victory was the 666th for coach Sue Gunter, and her 400th in 21 seasonsat LSU.

Seimone Augustus scored 16 for LSU, and DeTrina White added 10.

Kentucky (8-6, 1-1) had won five of its last six, but hasn’t won on the roadthis season. Jenny Pfeiffer and Keiko Tate each scored nine points against theTigers’ stifling defense, which held the Wildcats to 30 percent shooting.

LSU, which has allowed just two opponents to score more than 60 points,ranks first in the nation in points allowed at 50.5, just ahead ofConnecticut’s 50.6. They’re also ninth in blocked shots at nearly six per gameand 13th in field-goal percentage defense at 35 percent.

The Tigers made quick work of the Wildcats, jumping out to a 6-0 lead, thenwent on a 35-14 run in which Kentucky made only one foul shot during athree-minute stretch.

LSU had only three turnovers in the first half and led 53-21 at halftime.

Kentucky had 26 turnovers, including 18 on steals by LSU. The Tigers scored29 points off turnovers.
