Barbour Surgery Successful
Kentucky junior Antwain Barbour underwent surgery on Tuesday morning, Dec. 3, at the UK Hospital to repair his broken left hand. The 6-5 guard fractured the third metacarpal bone in his left hand on Sunday during practice. UK team physicians, led by Dr. Scott Mair, inserted two screws to stabilize the break. Barbour is expected to be out of action for 4-6 weeks.
Macy Bobble-Head Night
The 100-year celebration continues against High Point as Kentucky unveils its first of four collector bobble heads – Kyle Macy. The former UK All-American was the starting guard for the 1978 NCAA Champions. Nearly 500 of the figurines bearing his likeness will be given away to UK students tonight and another 5,000 are on sale at Hands On Originals on South Broadway in Lexington and the UK Basketball Museum in the Lexington Civic Center shops, adjacent to Rupp Arena. Each bobblehead, sporting a full head of hair, sells for $18.99. The other three bobble heads will be released over the next four weeks.
