The first 1,400 students in attendance will be given plastic travel mugs, emblazoned with each senior’s name. Five students will win an authentic game jersey of the senior of their choice.
Dr. Todd to Make Two Presentations: University President Lee Todd will make two presentations during the Vanderbilt game.
Between the first and second quarters, Dr. Todd will recognize the UK engineering students who designed and built a formula-style race car. The car was run in the 2002 Society of Automotive Engineers race in Michigan. Before the game, the car will be displayed at the Launch Pad.
Between the third and fourth quarter, Dr. Todd will honor students who participated in the 2002 Bucks for Brains Summer Research Program. The program was developed to encourage minority students at the university to consider careers in scientific and scholarly research. Twenty-two students were involved in areas such as marketing, engineering, pharmacy, and biochemistry.
JCPenney Afterschool Recognized During the First Quarter: During the first quarter of the game, UK will recognize JCPenney Afterschool, a foundation that provides financial support to five of America’s leading after-school advocates – YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, 4-H, Junior Achievement, and the Afterschool Alliance.
Upon leaving the game, fans may pick up a brochure about after-school activities available for children in the Lexington area.
