Lexington, Ky. – In the past three seasons the Kentucky women’s basketball schedule has been ranked in the nation’s top 10 and this season in no different. This year’s schedule is ranked fifth in the nation according to WBCA/Summerville RPI.
Kentucky will face seven teams ranked in the pre-season Associated Press Top 25, six of which are in the Southeastern Conference.
“That’s the luck of the draw for us. The SEC is so tough that it makes our schedule that difficult,” Coach Bernadette Mattox said.” The strength of schedule goes back to us playing each other inside the conference. Three of the top-10 teams in the country are from the SEC, so that makes for a difficult schedule.”
UK’s schedule features games with No. 2 Tennessee, No. 3 LSU, No. 9 Georgia, No. 12 Vanderbilt, No. 17 Arkansas, No. 18 Cincinnati and No. 24 Mississippi State.
